Providing high-quality primary & urgent medical care for people of all ages in the Louisburg area. We offer comprehensive medical services, from pediatric to geriatric medicine, to treatment and management of wounds and orthopedic injuries. At Impact Primary & Urgent Care, we accept appointments for Physicals, Hypertension, Asthma, Diabetes and so much more. We also offer the convenience of Immediate Care with our Walk-In policy.

Our providers are the heart of our clinic. They all have very diverse backgrounds and are dedicated to providing the best care to you and your family.

Heather Montgomery, FNP-BC

Primary Care Provider

Nurse Practitioner Heather Montgomery is originally from Henderson NC. She graduated from Watts School of Nursing in 1998. She earned a Master’s of Science degree in Nursing at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and graduated with honors and has been a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 2008. Montgomery was a registered nurse for 11 years with the North Carolina Board of Nursing and specialized in med/surg and the operating room. Then, she became licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the North Carolina Medical Board in 2008. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American College of Nurse Practitioners, and the Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society. Since becoming a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, she has specialized in orthopedics and has worked with Emerge Ortho, formerly known as Triangle Orthopedics where she continued to impact the lives of her community. Her experiences have led her to extend her passion to the Franklin County community.

Heather resides in Henderson, NC. She is a member of South Henderson Church of God. Her family has partnered with World Reach Partners over the past 4 years, participating in medical mission trips to Africa and Haiti. Her desire is to use her medical practice as a ministry to impact lives for the Kingdom.

Kristen was born and raised in Buffalo, NY where she graduated cum laude from the Physician Assistant program at D’Youville College. After working for an OB/Gyn office for four years, Kristen and her husband Matt relocated to North Carolina in pursuit of warmer weather and a more relaxed southern lifestyle. Since moving to North Carolina in 2006, Kristen has worked for a large rural Family Medicine clinic where she has developed a love and passion for rural healthcare. Kristen and her husband Matt have four children and live in Youngsville, NC where they enjoy spending time with family at home. They are active members of Celebration Church in Raleigh and are involved in international missions.

Heather and Kristen met while working together in 2009 and quickly discovered that they shared a similar passion for healthcare and their community. In 2012, they traveled to Haiti together with a medical mission team from World Reach Partners. They have both stayed involved with medical missions and have developed a growing desire to make an impact in their own communities. It was this desire that led them to start Impact Primary and Urgent Care, Heather and Kristen are excited to bring the first Urgent Care to Louisburg, NC, and work together doing what they love, making a difference in the lives of their patients.

Kennedy Onori, PhD, FNP-BC, CDP

Primary Care Provider

Kennedy Onori is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. He completed his post-doctoral degree at East Carolina University in 2020. Originally a native of Nigeria, Onori immigrated to the United States in 1989. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Baker University, Kennedy briefly worked at a community hospital in Lawrence, Kansas where he cared for pediatric patients recovering from surgeries and other childhood diseases. Kennedy relocated to North Carolina in 1998 and took up employment with UNC Children’s Hospital where he continued his passion for working with pediatric patients. Later Kennedy switched to the adult population and worked in surgical, neurosurgical, cardiovascular, and trauma intensive care settings at local tertiary hospitals. In 2013, Kennedy completed his doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. After earning his PhD, Dr. Onori spent several years as a clinical instructor and college professor at the University of North Carolina and Barton College respectively. As a pre-doctoral fellow. Dr. Onori focused his research on chronic disease management and prevention, with a particular interest in the management of type 2 diabetes and obesity in underserved and rural communities.

As a registered nurse, a certified family nurse practitioner with a  concentration in family practice, and a certified dementia practitioner, Kennedy has worked with patients across the lifespan. He has a long history of working with people with varied healthcare needs from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

Kennedy is a member of several professional organizations including the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA), the American Nurses Association (ANA), the National League for Nurses (NLN), and the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. He is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP).

Kennedy and his wife Karen have one daughter and live in Youngsville. In his spare time, Kennedy enjoys gardening, carpentry, traveling, and watching KU and UNC basketball, and Kansas City Chiefs football.

Brittany Newell is now accepting new primary care patients. Brittany was born and raised in Franklin County and is excited to be given the opportunity to meet the healthcare needs of her local community. Brittany attended East Carolina University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She spent 7 years working in the Emergency Department and Trauma Center in Greenville, North Carolina, followed by 4 years in urgent care as a registered nurse before returning to school to get her master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner from Walden University. After graduation, Brittany joined our staff at Impact as an urgent care provider and has now transitioned to primary care.

Brittany is married and has 2 children ages 14 and 6. She has a passion for helping others and giving back to the community and local schools by volunteering her time.

Meagan Coker, DNP, FNP-BC

Urgent Care Provider

Meagan Brewer Coker is a native of Franklin County. She attended Franklin County Schools and graduated as valedictorian of Louisburg High School’s 2008 class. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from East Carolina University in 2012. While in nursing school, she worked and volunteered as an EMT-Intermediate, and she began working in an emergency department (ED) as a registered nurse shortly after graduation. She has experience working in both a small, rural ED as well as a Level I trauma center, and she appreciates the knowledge and skills that she has gained from working in both settings. Coker returned to East Carolina University and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in the family nurse practitioner concentration in 2021. Her DNP project was completed in partnership with Louisburg Police Department and aimed to reduce stress for first responders and citizens with communication disorders through the promotion of QR code medical profiles. Coker is board certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She also holds certifications through the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing as a certified emergency nurse and as a trauma-certified registered nurse.

She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Emergency Nurses Association, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She joined Impact as a nurse practitioner in 2021 after completing two of her student clinical rotations here.

Coker is married with two dogs and five (four were a surprise!) cats. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the gym and walking outdoors. She also has continued to pursue further education by taking nursing-based courses in disaster management. She looks forward to giving back to her home community by helping to meet the health care needs of Franklin County citizens through her work at Impact.

Dana Browning is originally from Henderson, North Carolina, where she graduated from Northern Vance High School in 2001. She received an Associates Degree in Allied Health from Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia. She graduated from Wayne Community College in 2006 with her Associates Degree in Nursing and completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2012 from Winston Salem State University. She earned her Masters Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University in 2020 and has been board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Browning was a registered nurse for 16 years, specializing in emergency nursing. Browning worked in both small, rural settings as well as a Level I trauma center. This experience helped her mature into an FNP with a wealth of clinical expertise. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Browning became an FNP in 2020 and since becoming board-certified, she has worked at Impact as an urgent care provider.

Dana and her husband Wayne have a son and live in Franklinton, North Carolina, where they love spending time with family, traveling, and participating in outdoor activities. Dana looks forward to giving back to her community by helping her fellow citizens in their time of need.

As a fellow Franklin County resident, I am pleased to provide urgent care to my fellow Franklin County residents. I am a graduate of Bunn High School and have lived in Franklin County since 2000. I graduated from Nash Community College with my associate degree in nursing and completed my bachelor’s degree at Winston Salem State. As a nurse, I worked in a level one trauma center as an emergency room nurse for ten years. Then continued my education at South University, where I obtained my Family Nurse Practitioner. Before joining Impact, I worked at Wake County Health Department providing care mostly in women’s health and obstetrics.

I am thrilled to use my skills and emergency medicine experience to bring quality health care to this area. In my downtime, I enjoy playing with my two handsome boys and traveling as much as possible.
